From May 13th to 28th, the Triton Poker Series was held at the luxurious Maestral Resort & Casino in Budva, Montenegro.

As usual, the festival was attended by regulars from the live circuit, businessmen, and some of the best online and live players in the world.

Among the festival champions were 5-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos, the legendary luckbox Fedor Holz, Triple Crown winner Mike Watson, 5-time GGMillions winner Aleks Ponakovs, Matthias Eibinger, and Daniel Dvoress.

$25K NLH Golden Decade

Daniel Dvoress started the final table with the second-largest stack and took the chip lead after sending Biao Ding out in fifth place. The hand began with Ding raising from under the gun with and Daniel's call in the big blind with . The flop brought and the action went check-check. Dvoress came out betting on the and Biao called the turn. The river was a and Daniel went all-in. Bing failed to fold and was eliminated.

Dvoress ended up winning the tournament and earned his fourth Triton title, along with a prize of $849,000. He thus achieved the so-called "Triton Trident" with victories in all three formats of the circuit: NLH, PLO, and Short Deck (2).

Among the tournament finalists was Fedor Holz, who won the first Triton Poker tournament in 2017 at this same venue in Montenegro. He started the final table with the second-largest chip stack and, by three-handed play, had already built a significant lead over his opponents. He played heads-up against Aleks Ponakovs, and the tournament was decided by a bluff.

The hand began with a limp from Aleksejs and a check from Fedor, to see a flop Holz checked and then called his opponent's bet. The turn was a and the Fedor check-called again. The river brought a and Fedor checked again. Ponakovs went all-in with the smaller stack. The German called with and defeated with which Aleksejs had tried to bluff.

This marked Holz's fifth title at Triton Poker, nearly 10 years after his first. He took home $528,000 for first place, plus $620,000 in bounties for eliminating 11 opponents.

The Main Event final table began with Danny Tang leading the pack in his QQPoker patch. During six-handed play, a huge cooler occurred between Cong Pham and Klemens Roiter, when both hit a set. The flop was . Cong had and Klemens had . The leader bet the flop and received a call from Pham. The turn was a . Roiter went all-in and received a call with a slightly larger stack. The river was a , which gave Klemens quads and left Pham with 5 big blinds, only to be eliminated in the next hand.

The heads-up match started with Roiter in the lead, holding 83 big blinds to Danny Tang's 16. Tang managed to double up with against the of Klemens. He won again when his surpassed of Roiter. In the final hand, the Tang defeated the of Klemens, who finished second.

Danny secured his sixth Triton Poker title and the biggest prize of his career: $3.5 million. This victory brought his live poker total to $43 million, placing him at the top of Hong Kong's All Time Money List.

The final table of the anniversary tournament featured Triton circuit regulars with a combined total of 32 titles, 6 of which were in main events. Aleks Ponakovs started the final with the second-largest stack and took the chip lead in three-handed play. However, Jonathan Jaffe eliminated Frenchman Jean-Noel Thorel in third place and began the heads-up match with 56 big blinds to Ponakovs' 45.

In the heads-up key hand, friend of CoinPoker Aleks raised pre-flop with , and Jaffe called with . The flop was and Jonathan called another bet. The action was repeated with the on the turn and the river brought a . Then Aleks went all-in, and Jaffe called with his bluff catcher, losing a large part of his stack.

In the next hand, Jonathan limp-called with when faced with Aleks' push with . An Ace on the flop gave Ponakovs the victory, earning him $3 million and his second career title. He had previously finished second in Event #5, the $40,000 NLH Mystery Bounty, for $407,000 and earlier this month won the €25,000 EPT Monte Carlo High Roller for €839,000 ($988,000). With a total winnings of $42 million, he is the most successful player in Latvian history.
