We found out what some streamers outside of the English market wear for on-camera sessions, how live poker players choose clothes for casino trips, and at-home grinders don for their online games.

What the Poker Streamers Wear

MintonAmbassador for Russia's GG Network Skin (PokerOK)

Before PokerOK T-shirts came out, I didn't really bother with my appearance on streams. I tried not to play in home T-shirts with a stretched neck, but sometimes I didn't disdain them either. And, 2-3 years ago, when this style (pictured above) appeared, I stream only in them! Emoticons for all occasions, cool design, excellent material and a discreet inscription "PokerOK"! In short, now my choice for fashion is simple. Especially since I have a ton of T-shirts now.

I use headdresses as talismans. I have a rather strict way of selecting certain ones:

  • $10-$0.10 events – a Naruto headband
  • Lower stakes tournaments with solid prizes – Mickey Mouse ears.

There is also an amulet from South Africa made of goat's butt wool and a Trump cap, sometimes I alternate them.

I won't say anything about magical power, that's classified information!

For me, appearance on the stream, and in life too, does not matter much. Apparently, my personality type in this regard is a bit unhinged, so I often go on air and wander the streets with unwashed hair, unshaven, in wrinkled T-shirts or unironed shirts... well, or I'm just a lazy devil.

And, to be completely honest, I don’t care about my appearance 🙄

However, I have one special piece of clothing, a pink T-shirt that is about seven years old. I have had many a bad time in it on streams. It is still in my closet, although I have not worn it for more than six months. I want to believe that this T-shirt is charged with success, but I immediately pull myself up and remind myself that all this is nonsense, and the fact that I have played in it so many times is just a coincidence!

My appearance on the stream is mostly my face, clothes are almost never in the frame. Last year, PokerOK solved the problem of clothes for any poker events with its merch – T-shirts with branded emoticons. Now I wear them to any offline tournament and stream. Fortunately, as an ambassador, I was given a solid supply.

Important advice for new streamers: If you plan to run to the toilet during a break, you need to wear pants or shorts, otherwise it will be awkward!

In general, I am not a superstitious person, but when I was dragging the tournament in Cyprus, I did not change my “Bring in the Cabbage” T-shirt for the last four days, because I did not want to scare away my luck 😁 Before the final, I hung it up to air out over the ventilation in my room – by that time it had already suffered enough and needed a rest 😁

Andrey Winged_Guy – StreamHut Member in Argentina

I play regular sessions in my home one, the main thing is that it is warm and comfortable. For streams I choose something more decent.

But on StreamHut I plan to go through different costumes :)

I don't have any superstitions, but there are three objects that I always keep on my desk:

  • a stone
  • a wooden top
  • a piece of leather

I need them to fidget with and ground myself. These are the three natural elements, a connection with nature.

Streaming for me is like meeting and chatting with friends, not just routine work, so I want to look good. But outside of streams, I play in something casual or athletic.

What The Live Poker Players Wear

Don_Pedro

Appearance is important to me because I get a lot of photos taken at the tables and I like it. I never deviate from my style for the sake of going to tournaments, I just try to choose interesting shirts and make sure they are never repeated more than twice (I have over 300 shirts).

At the same time, I never sacrificed comfort for the sake of appearance. Quite the contrary, clothes that are comfortable for poker became common in everyday life. For example, I gave up any pants without elastic (jeans with a belt, etc.).

What do you always take with you to a series?
The pillow I sit on. It makes my back less tired. It's been tested not only in tournaments, but also on flights to distant countries (usually the trip takes 20-30 hours).

Do you agree that you are the most stylish poker player?
Yes! 🤣🤣🤣

Andrey Suba

Of course, the appearance of an offline player is very important. For me, the most important thing in clothes is to look neat. After all, poker is your job, amateurs do not come to the casino to sit at a table with unpleasant slobs. I always try to wear ironed clothes, and when I come in wrinkled, I play more haphazardly.

What kind of discipline can we talk about in poker if you can’t find 10 minutes in the morning to get your appearance in order!?

I think all poker players are more or less superstitious, and I am no exception. For many years, I took a red hoodie with me to the offline series. I always felt confident in it. Maybe because I mark the strongest regs in red online. In this hoodie, I managed to win a small tournament in Cannes and get a WSOP ring.

Who's the most stylish poker player?
The first one that came to mind was Mario Mosbeck (now sponsored by CoinPoker). For some reason he reminds me of a young Ashton Kutcher.

Appearance is important to me, but comfort is still the most important. I usually travel with a small suitcase, so I don't have any trouble choosing a series.

I brought my college hoodie with me to this WSOP.

It happened by chance – a few days before the training camp, an interview with Mike Monchek appeared on the Main Page. I was inspired and decided to follow his example. Perhaps this sweatshirt helped me snag the second bracelet.

Previously, I tried to pay more attention to my appearance during series, I often wore jeans. Now, especially in Vegas (and playing live, I only play there), I often wear shorts and sweatpants, but rather high-quality ones that look good, and not like I just came out of the gym. Well, in Vegas, it’s very cold in the gym, so it’s usually a T-shirt + sweater + hoodie. And next year, if I go, I’ll buy myself a jacket, no joke. Many people play like that, otherwise you’ll freeze 100%.

Superstitions have not bypassed me either, but for the last two years they have not helped at all, so I have begun to pay less attention to them. I just try to wear things that I like more during important stages of tournaments.

[Ed. note: For example, the legendary grey GipsyTeam sweatshirts]

I won my first and second bracelets in them) The first time it just happened, and then I put it on on purpose. Maybe I should have worn it this year too... mistake.

I always dress well, because going to a casino for me means looking stylish. And it's always nicer to look at well-dressed opponents. If the casino is somewhere in the southern countries, like I live in Malaysia, then you can wear a light T-shirt with non-swimming shorts. The main rules when buying clothes are to take only comfortable ones and a size larger, so that nothing pinch)

I started making a vlog about offline life, so now I always take a camera with me when I travel.

I used to believe in all sorts of superstitions, now there's only one left – you always need to show the moon in the sky money))

What Do Online Poker Players Wear?

Sandrix

Most of the year, especially in the summer, I play in shorts. I try to make sure that nothing gets in the way or distracts me. Any irritating factor affects my concentration, so both the clothes and the temperature in the office must be comfortable, it's all part of one big puzzle to optimize the process.

I don't have any superstitions, but I made it to the top 5 at one of the series a hundred years ago. I was having a blast in all the hands except the last one. I was wearing an Upswing Poker T-shirt . I remember Doug Polk recording a video in it and I wanted one too. Maybe that had something to do with my luck. I didn't end up winning the tournament, though, so it must work differently.

I also had an idea: you can dress for a session like you would for an office or an important meeting – suit, tie, all that stuff. To feel as professional as possible, so that it motivates you not to freeze up and not do crap at the tables. I was inspired by this idea after watching the movie “The Transporter” with Statham. In the movie, he was a top professional in his field – suits, driving gloves, everything optimized for work as much as possible. I wanted to do something similar as an experiment and see how my brain would react, but I still haven’t gotten around to it.

Deep down, I think it won't have much of an impact, tilt resistance and the technical side are still more important. Maybe it will add a couple of percent to the perception of oneself as a professional. Although, to be honest, I don't consider myself a professional, I'm more of a poker enthusiast, I like the game and the process itself, the slaughter at the tables and the spirit of competition. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's fine for me.

Maria Lisenook

In this regard, everything is simple for me – since I play from home, I usually just wear home clothes. The only change is that recently I started buying more interesting home clothes, with funny prints and brighter colors.

Overall, I think clothing is a hugely underrated factor, especially when playing from home. If you have special “work” clothes, changing into them before the rink can help create a work atmosphere, and as a result, improve the quality of decisions at the tables. But I haven’t reached that level yet. [Editor’s note: Someone needs to try this method ASAP!]

I try not to pay attention to the "luck" of things and not to dwell on it. Otherwise, in my case, it can very quickly develop into paranoia 😁

Dima Brdz1

For some reason it seems to me that poker players spend most of their sessions wearing a minimum of clothing, let's say, ha-ha.

I usually try to dress “for the weather” – if it’s cold at home, I’ll just put on something warmer, but I don’t really have any preferences; in this regard, the main thing for me is comfort.

Who's the most stylish poker player?
100% Linus! He's even the strongest one, I would say.

Yaroslav Hungry

I don't treat clothes as a magical artifact. The main thing is that they don't interfere with the air flow and the brain thinking. In Batumi in the summer there are nights when the best dress code is no dress code. The rule here is simple: a T-shirt on the third day is -EV. I would rather go out naked against the field than sit at the table in it.

If you consider perfume as a part of clothing, then my Carven Pour Homme is etched in my memory as the “scent of a winner.” I first put them on in Sochi, having successfully debuted in my first tournament. Since then, this smell has worked for me as a return button to that state. Someone has a lucky T-shirt, and for me – a pheromone of good luck.

Who's the most stylish poker player?
Stefan Prostorov. His style is a phantom image that stands on its own. He is like a character that exists only in one aesthetic, without it he will dissolve. It is strong and stylish.

Alexey Fapnik

I am absolutely not superstitious. I put on any shorts and a T-shirt for the session and get to the game.

In the Spanish heat, sometimes you want to go without a T-shirt, but then you stick to the chair and it gets even worse – you have to choose the lesser of two evils.

Roma ALDAIR68

I never chose any special clothes for gaming sessions, I sat in my home clothes. But lately I have been recording broadcasts more and more often, here I have to choose something in a neat-neutral style. Although sometimes I had the idea to come up with something and go on air or to record in my Japanese kimono or something else extravagant. Perhaps this is still ahead.

It is during the game that clothes are not important to me at all, I only focus on whether I am in a public environment or not. And I have not had much variety in my wardrobe lately. Thailand became three years of shorts and T-shirts for me.

I have never associated successes/failures with clothes, probably my brain just did not notice it. For me, anchors to events were rather set by some musical compositions or my emotional experiences that I managed to remember.

Denis FLAT

I change shirts during the game. I don't know how it works, but it helps me – you're playing a terrible session and you can't win a single all-in, you change your shirt and bam – everything starts to come together. I don't know how to explain it, but since it works, I use it.

Important: the T-shirt must be clean, neat and most importantly – not torn. It is impossible to win in a torn T-shirt!

Now I have a pile of regular white T-shirts, so I can change at least during each break. Although I don't do that yet) Over time, some of the T-shirts that I consistently wear get discarded.

By the way! We have a new addition to our international store – a new collection of T-shirts, caps and sweatshirts !

One of our hoodies helped win at least two WSOP bracelets. Maybe you'll discover the magical powers of our merch?
