Basepoker Review: Bonuses, Rakeback, Games, Deposits & More

The online poker industry has launched several crypto rooms over the past couple of years Phenom Poker, VangPoker, Betplay, Ton Poker, MTT Sports — these are just some of the new names. Basepoker has entered the scene to compete with them.

General Information

The platform launched in June 2024. The room is owned by a company that is based in Costa Rica. It is also the country where the platform obtained its legit gaming license.

Basepoker accepts players from all over the world, including the U.S. Deposits and withdrawals are only available in crypto. The platform does not support deposits via bank cards, e-wallets, or other payment methods. It runs in a browser — no downloads or installation required.

Games at Basepoker

As of time of writing, the platform supports only No Limit Texas Hold’em. The platform’s management has announced plans to add Omaha. The current game list includes cash and tournaments. Spins and Sit & Go are not available.

Cash Games. Instead of a shared lobby, the room offers separate tabs for Tether, Solana, and Bitcoin Cash. Stakes range from NL2 to NL1000. Minimum buy-in is 20 big blinds.

Short-Handed is the dominant format. No Full Ring or Heads-Up tables. The room only offers classic cash games — no Fast Poker, Bomb Pots, CAP, or straddle tables. No player counter is available. A manual count at 17:30 UTC / 13:30 EST gave the following results:

Not every table was fully seated. For example, at NL10 one table had 6 players and the other had 2. The count was taken at 17:30 UTC / 12:30 EST. Instead of playing for real money, you can also create a play-money table. You start with 20,000 chips. To invite friends, just send them a link — you can copy it in one click.

Tournaments. The MTT tab doesn’t impress you with formats or massive guarantees. You’ll find turbo and hyper-turbo events. The platform also runs several freerolls. There are no Progressive Knockout MTTs, Mystery Bounty events, or re-entries in the lobby. The largest prize pool is $200. Payouts are $60 for 1st, $36 for 2nd, and $18 for 3rd. Typical field sizes are 100–120 players.

Every day the room runs 4 free tournaments. Each freeroll has a $20 prize pool. Basepoker lets you register in advance; for example, on Wednesday evening you can sign up for Thursday. This approach guarantees plenty of “dead stacks” in the freerolls. Occasionally the room runs special freerolls with bigger prizes — on August 1, 2025, it gave away $170.

The platform does not host online festival series. There are no satellites into higher-buy-in events.

Promotions

New players can use a 150% first-deposit bonus up to $2,000. Minimum deposit amount is $10. You have 60 days to clear it. You have to generate rake equivalent to 2x of your deposit to unlock the full amount. For instance, upon depositing $100, a new player gets a $150 bonus. To clear it fully, $300 of rake is required. Only cash-game rake counts.

The platform runs a daily cash-game race with $100 in prizes: $25 for 1st, $19 for 2nd, $14 for 3rd. The leaderboard starts at 09:00 UTC / 04:00 EST. Positions depend on points earned, which are awarded based on rake generated. Prizes are paid within 24 hours after the race ends.

The loyalty program provides rakeback up to 60%. The VIP system has 22 tiers. Ranks depend on points earned from rake. You receive 100 points for every $1 in rake. Note the 28-day rolling window — statuses can be gained or lost almost daily because they’re recalculated regularly. The tier names aren’t particularly helpful; constant references to gold, silver, and bronze can be confusing.

How to Open an Account

Registration is straightforward and takes a couple of minutes. Here’s how to create a Basepoker account:

1. Open the room’s official website. At the time of writing, access to the site was unrestricted. If that has changed, contact support: claude@basepoker.com
2. Click “Start.” The poker site supports 10 languages. Among them are English, German, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, etc.
3. Enter your email address. Alternative login/registration via Google or Twitter is also available. There’s a MetaMask option as well.
4. Copy the six-digit verification code from the room’s email. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder.
5. Paste the code into the necessary field.

After registration, you don’t need to fill in personal data or upload documents. Security will request them once your cumulative cashouts exceed $10,000.

To pass verification, you’ll need to confirm your identity and address — a photo of your passport or driver’s license, plus a utility bill no older than 90 days. The document must show your first and last name.

How to Make a Deposit

You can fund your account with three cryptocurrencies: Tether, Solana, and Bitcoin Cash. Traditional cashier methods are not available. The minimum deposit is $1. There is no upper limit. To add funds:

1. Open the Basepoker website.
2. Log in to your account.
3. Go to the cashier.
4. Click “Deposit” in the pop-up window.
5. Click “Activate Bonus.”
6. Find the cryptocurrency you want to use.
7. Choose a network. For Tether deposits, you can send via Ethereum or Polygon.

Rake

Software

The room runs in a browser. There are no separate desktop or mobile apps for Basepoker. The random number generator is blockchain-based.

To start playing, just visit the official website, enter your email, and paste the verification code. You’re assigned a random nickname at first; you can change it in your profile, but only once. There are 35 standard avatars, and you can upload your own (max 5 MB). Other options let you:

• Change your email address.
• Enable room notifications about promos and updates.
• Add personal details to your profile.

Settings are modest. You can choose alternate deck and table themes. You can also disable sound, chat, emojis, and the dealer’s voice. To display stacks in big blinds, use the toggle at the table — there’s no global setting for it.

The clean table design will appeal to professionals. With no visual clutter or distractions, it’s easy to focus on the game. Poker trackers and helper tools are not allowed. There’s no built-in HUD, but you can take notes on opponents — click a player’s nickname, then use the window in the lower-left corner. Color tags are not available.

The room doesn’t list system requirements. In practice, you can play in this crypto poker room on an older PC or an average smartphone.
