BetPlay Review: Promotions, Registration, Poker Formats, and More

Many poker websites usually lure players just by name. However, GGPoker and PokerStars may not necessarily provide the best conditions. In many situations, smaller poker rooms provide a better value to recruit players. Here’s how BetPlay stacks up as an online poker site.

General Info

BetPlay has been in operation since 2020. It provides sports betting, online betting, casino games, and poker. Lama Tech owns it.

The sportsbook and casino with no poker section is a Colombian site, while the crypto-based poker room is a .io site. It is easy to tell them apart. The Colombian bookmaker has a Spanish-language interface that features a blue colour scheme, typical of a regional bookmaker brand. Meanwhile, the crypto poker room has a grey-themed design in English and other languages. Players from the U.S., Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the UK, and Austria are not accepted by BetPlay.

There is no information on the BetPlay official site about licensing or players. This online poker room isn't tracked by PokerScout, and the lobby doesn’t show a traffic counter. Manual tracking at the time of writing revealed:

• 42 players at cash tables
• 25 in the only current tournament

What You Can Play on BetPlay

BetPlay’s poker room has struggled to find success in its five years of operation. Low traffic and other limitations point to modest results. The lobby has six live cash game limits: NL5, NL10, NL25, NL50, NL100, NL200. The minimum buy-in is 40BB for NL5–NL50 and 50BB for NL100 and NL200.

Short-handed tables dominate. There are no Full Ring games. As of writing, active play was seen only on NL5–NL25. This poker room offers only standard No-Limit Hold’em — Omaha, Short Deck, or other formats aren’t included. Fast-fold games are also unavailable.

The MTT schedule is minimal — just 15 to 20 events per day. The biggest guarantee is $150. The entry prices vary from eleven cents ($0.11) to eleven dollars ($11). There are several freerolls running, one of which, worth $500, takes place on Sunday. But access is restricted to players with Mini Grinder status, which has to be earned at the cash tables only.

Occasionally, BetPlay runs small series. For example, the Crazy Series took place from February 24 to March 23, 2025, with a total prize pool of $22,000. The tournament’s main event offered a $2,000 GTD but was played in a variant where players get three hole cards and have to throw one away, which is hardly mainstream.

The Sit & Go section is limited to heads-ups with buy-ins ranging from $0.22 to $8.80. They rarely fill.

Promotions

There’s some confusion about the first deposit bonus. While the poker section doesn't say anything, the FAQ provides offers and details. In practice, BetPlay offers a 100% welcome bonus up to $500. Key details:

• Must be activated within 7 days.
• Complete the playthrough requirement within 30 days.
• Requires 80x turnover of the deposit amount.
• Deposits and withdrawals won’t cancel the bonus.
• There’s no separate poker bonus.

The description makes it clear that the additional amount is intended for casino and sportsbook customers. Unlike normal poker rooms, BetPlay chooses to analyze your turnover in the payments made.

Poker participants receive a consistent promotion that is a rake race leaderboard. Each week, $500 is up for grabs. Whoever comes first gets $100 while the top 20 players get prizes. Every week on Monday, this race starts at 02:00 UTC (22:00 EST Sunday).

The loyalty program has 14 levels. Starting at Bronze, players receive 10% rakeback. Moving up the levels enhances the rewards you get at a casino but does not enhance your poker cashback amounts. An important downside is that rakeback is only paid on losses, which is a bit suspicious for the grinders.

How to Create an Account

Registering is easy. Here's how to complete your registration on BetPlay:

1. Go to the official website.
2. Click “Sign Up” in the top-right corner.
3. Enter your email address.
4. Choose a password with at least 8 characters, an uppercase letter, and a digit.
5. Verify your email with a code.
6. Navigate to the Poker tab.
7. Click “Play Poker”.
8. Create a nickname—it will be shown at the tables.

No personal info or document verification is required for registration or login.

How to Deposit

BetPlay only accepts cryptocurrency. As of July 2025, available options included:

Deposits are instant and free of charge. There’s no minimum except for BTC Lightning Network, which is 20 mBTC ($27).

4. Enter the amount.
5. Click “Deposit Now”.

To select a coin that is not BTC, you can click on the “Change Currency” option and choose from the available crypto options. Minimum withdrawal amounts depend on the cryptocurrency. For instance, BTC requires a minimum of 5 mBTC, 5 USDT for Tether, and 10 TRX for Tron. The daily cap is $8,000.

BetPlay doesn’t offer a downloadable poker client or mobile app. Everything runs in-browser. The interface is distinct: cash and tournaments are split at the top, while the bottom area shows available tables, challenges, rake race leaderboard, and the next major MTT.

Players at Crazy Hold’em get to choose 3 hole cards and discard 1.

The table information displayed in the cash lobby shows player count and minimum buy-in.

The Tournament section consists of three tabs: MTT, Sit&Go, and Events. No further advanced filters are available. Instead, symbols are used:

• S — Satellite
• B — Bounty
• H — Hybrid bounty
• R — Re-entry

The Sit & Go page shows a plain list. "Events" shows current promotions and key tournaments and is similar to the MTT tab.

You can customize the layout, enable 4-color decks, mute your opponents, and set your own preflop/postflop bet sizing profiles.

Click the gear icon at a table to access settings. The auto-rebuy, BB stacks, sit-out, and other features are below the table. The in-browser poker app has no download option but supports real money play across multiple tabs.
