In 2020, online poker experienced a sudden boom: due to COVID, online traffic increased noticeably in all rooms and formats, regulars boasted of their pretty charts, and tournament series set records in prize money. The GG Network rooms used the boom more effectively than others: even the lifting of COVID restrictions did not affect their popularity, and in the middle of the year, the first-ever online stage of the WSOP-C was held on GG with unprecedented success. The seemingly incredible $100,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was covered by $20 million, and all key tournaments with rings for the winners were held without overlays.
GG has cemented its status as the leader of online poker by adding a regular $10,300 high-stakes tournament to the schedule. The Sunday tournament with a two-million guarantee has attracted the attention of poker stars of different generations from the very start, but the name of the first champion will hardly mean anything to most readers: the American Brent "Grebnrets" Roberts won the June Super MILLION$ ($362,000). Interestingly, ten years earlier, the same player was at another historic final table – and then the Sunday Million trophy went to Russia for the first time.
The second prize winner of the debut Super MILLION$ was Ian "potamophobia" Matakis ($330,000): to understand the full depth and irony of the nickname, you might need to be friends with a specialist in the field of psychiatry – or at least go to Google.

Subsequent tournaments were won mainly by stars – champion titles were won by Jonathan Van Fleet, Isaac Haxton , Darren Elias, Isaac Baron, Artur Martirosyan and Luke Greenwood.
Michael Addamo became the record holder of the year: the Australian played 51 tournaments out of 52, reached the final table seven times, and won three tournaments. In total, iamluckbox earned almost $2,300,000 in Super MILLION$ tournaments in 2021.

In January, GG saw several updates: an annual net profit leaderboard appeared, and the lobby featured direct satellites for just $10. However, another event caused the biggest stir: the first offline Super MILLION$ tournament for $25,000 was announced on social media as part of the Triton Super High Roller Series in Vietnam.
SM Live was the opening tournament of the series and immediately broke the record for the number of participants: 166 entries were made in six hours. The cup and $965k in prize money for first place went to WSOPE and EPT champion Chin Wei Lim. In November of the same year, the Malaysian repeated his success at the MILLION$ tournament in Monte Carlo: the victory was worth $899k.
In the summer of 2023, a rebranding took place – Super MILLION$ changed its name to GG Millions, and in the fall, the live version of the tournament for the first time went beyond the Triton series and got into the WSOP Europe schedule in Rozvadov.
The €25,000 MTT drew just 42 players, but by the end of late registration, 89 entries had been made. Daniel Dvoress emerged as the champion, setting another record: the first top reg from Canada to win the GG Millions both online and live.

In August, Erik Seidel won the Super MILLION$ bracelet, this time online. This was the veteran star's first bracelet since 2007. Seidel's heads-up opponent was Francisco Tomatee Benitez.
In the final all-in preflop, the Uruguayan was ahead, but to the delight of the Russian-speaking commentators, a flush closed on the river, and Erik Seidel received his ninth bracelet and $982k.

Let's move from the history of the tournament to the most unusual records and achievements of the players.
The $160,000 Reentry
The producer of "Evening Poker" Roman Emelyanov reached the first final table in Super MILLION$ two months after the tournament was launched, but the next final was only made two years later. However, he managed to become the star of the Sunday without ITM.
In October, Roman showed real mastery of street poker. After losing a coinflip QQ < AK to Alexey Avr0ra, the hero re-entered and a minute later called Alexey's push with JTs. But that was not the end.
In total, Roman invested $160,000 in the tournament and was eliminated before ITM: he failed to recoup 16 entries. However, the following week he was able to reach the top 9, and in January the number of final tables reached 12.
The long-awaited championship happened at the end of March: Emelyanov met Owen Messer in heads-up and in the key hand he went all in with AQ against pocket fives. An ace came on the flop, and there were no accidents after that.

A month before the final table, Roman's heads-up opponent Owen PR0DIGY Messere won the CoinPoker Cash Championship . We posted his interview on the Mechanics of Poker podcast for GipsyTeam.
Spinning It Up from 1.3 BB
In January 2025, Israeli high roller Barak Wisbrod made perhaps the most beautiful comeback in the history of the MILLION$ series. At the 5-max stage, he threw away almost everything and after the first hour of play was left with only 1.4 bb.

In the first hand after the break, Barak shoved the rest of his stack with A2s, Tony Lin in the BB called with 32o. The situation did not change by the river. A minute later, they managed to double again – Jesse Lonis went all-in from the small blind with J5 and was dominated.

In the 4-max stage, Barak got his first big move as an underdog but caught one three outs on the river.

At the 17,500/70,000/140,000 level, Barak with 8BB and KQs flopped a queen against Ding Biao with AJo.

Tony Lin dominated the stack 2-1 going into the heads-up, but Barak was in a better position than ever. The Israeli secured his second championship and ended his losing streak: before that, he had only managed to win one of his seven GG Millions heads-ups.
Roman Hrabec's Furious Bluff
February 2025 could have been a landmark month for the series: the MILLION$ phase attracted 1,226 entries and became the second-largest prize pool in history. It was 200 registrations short of the September record.

Five Austrian regulars made it to the final table with $1.8kk for first place, but the most memorable hand was that involving Triton champion Roman Hrabec.
60,0000/250,000/500,000. Roman bets 1,000,000 on the button with JQo, Pedro Neves calls in the SB with KJo. Bernhard Binder calls in the BB with T8s and sees the flop of his dreams: 88K.

After two checks, Hrabec bets 750,000 into a 3,300,000 pot with nothing, Neves calls with top pair, Binder reraises to 2,390,000 with trips. Instead of the obvious fold, Hrabec, after a few seconds of thought, plays 4-bet 4,025,000,
Neves folds the king, Binder makes a small 5-bet, calls. The action turn is T: Roman improves to a straight draw, the opponent with a full house makes a small lead and Hrabec calls with no outs. When Binder checks with quads, Hrabec invests the rest of his stack and is eliminated fifth.

Record Profit of Kaladjurdjevic
Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, one of the most notable representatives of the Balkan poker school and a strong cash game player, regularly played Million$, and won his first title in April 2024 in a phased tournament, earning $1.58M. The successful run continued in live games. In May, the player went to the Triton series in Montenegro, where he took second place in the $125k main event: they gave $3,196,000.

The aura reserve was enough for a return to online: in May, Kaladjurdjevic reached the second “phase” final in a row (1,202 entries and $12 million in prize money). He started with the fourth stack, but held out in all the important all-ins and went into heads-up with a big advantage. The result: victory and $1.68 million.

The upstreak didn't end there! In the next phase tournament in August, the Montenegrin again entered the final table as the chip leader. He managed to fill the champion's stack at the two-table stage in all-in against Yuri Dzivilevski. On the river, the Brazilian player collected a flush, but the poisoned five gave Kaladjurdjevic a full house.

However, the hat-trick did not happen: Kaladjurdjevic left the race in seventh place and added another $285k to his piggy bank, and his total prize money in just two months exceeded $3,500,000. The Montenegrin does not play $10,300 tournaments often, so with a high degree of probability he can be called the Millions record holder for net profit.

Ten Titles of Martirosyan
The Russian high roller has been tearing up Millions final tables since the very beginning, Martirosyan won his first trophy back in 2020. Since then, he has won nine more victories. He managed to earn his anniversary title in April of this year.
First, in the preflop all-in, we managed to take final table debutant Parox out of the running.

In 7-max, Martirosyan shoved 40 blinds into Lasouskii's short stack and flopped a nine.

Three levels later, the players were dealt a cooler: Derzhypilski opened with AQo, Artur made a small 3-bet and called the push with QQ.

Some of the hands were replayed in the Mystery Hand format.

Artur raised with an unknown hand, Beriuzy called with suited A9 and flopped a flush. Check-call. On the turn Q the Canadian streamer led, called. The river was a deuce, Beriuzy bet small and immediately called the push. Arthur's hand: 22.

Denis Gerasimov was the next to fall: the players were dealt overpairs on a low flop.

Artur entered the heads-up against Malaysian regular Kiat Lee with a big advantage. In the final hand, Lee shoved 11 BB with KQ and lost to A7. The result was the tenth GG Millions title and $406k. Martirosyan summed up the final hand in his TG channel.

Dmitry Kravchenko Wins GG Millions phase
The April phase tournament managed to collect 1,141 entries. This was not enough to set a new record, but the final table was not inferior to the previous ones in terms of the brightness of the hands or the status of the players. Michael Addamo, Joao Vieira, Andrey Derzhipilski, Dmitry Kravchenko, Artur Martirosyan, Ole Schemion, Arsenii Malinov, Aleks Borovkov and final table newcomer Valery LALIBERTE fought for impressive prize money.
Ole was the first to drop out of the race – after a tough cooler, Kravchenko rose to second place in the chip count.

Two levels later, Avr0ra was in danger of being eliminated: He raised tens, LALIBERTE in the BB called and caught two ace pairs on the flop. The final table debutant check-raised a small continuation bet, called. But it was not to be – the turn brought a ten, Valery shoved and received an instant call: the set held.
Soon, another cooler was dealt to the two leaders in GG Millions wins. Artur Martirosyan 4-bet shoved tens into Addamo's kings. Addamo doubled up.

Artur did not manage to survive until the end of the level: in another hand, Kravchenko's threes proved stronger than AK.

Arseniy Malinov flopped the nuts in a preflop all-in, but a jack on the river improved Kravchenko's set to a full house.

In 3-max, Aleks went big, but the jack stood up for Dmitry once again. Avr0ra's payout was $985k.

The heads-up leader changed several times: the players approached the key hand of the final table with equal stacks. In the limp pot, Addamo saw the flop of his dreams, and Dmitry collected top pair with a flush draw. The players went all-in on the flop.

A ten on the river closed the flush and in the next hand Addamo found himself in a virtual auto-all-in. It didn't work out to spin like Barak and after two hands Kravchenko won his second GG Millions trophy, updating his GG record. The winner's prize was $1,171,384.
We published a detailed review of the final table with comments from Alexey Ponyakov and Aurora on GipsyTeam.
The Biggest GG Millions
Millions WSOP Online in October 2024 collected 1,433 entries and an incredible $14,330,000 in prize money. The first place payout was almost $2M – and it went to Spanish regular Sergio Aido. He entered the final table with only the eighth stack, but things were going well: the Spaniard entered 3-max as the chip leader.
The heads-up was one of the fastest in GG Millions history, taking just three hands – on the river, Aido shoved two pairs, got called and earned another WSOP bracelet.
