Chris Moneymaker's victory at the 2003 WSOP changed the public's attitude to poker. A simple accountant from Tennessee turned $86 into $2,500,000 at the World Series of Poker Main Event. Millions of players from all over the world wanted to repeat his success. Some of them succeeded. Let's discuss who Olivier Busquet is and what he has achieved in poker.

Olivier Busquet is one of the masters of heads up strategy and SNG tournaments. His peak results came in the late 2000s and the first half of the 2010s.

Olivier has won both online and in live games. As of July 26, 2024, Olivier's career winnings exceeded $9,000,000, but his current net worth is unknown.

Busquet also showed good results in online poker:

• Earned over $1,700,000 on Full Tilt Poker under the nickname livb112.

• On PokerStars, the achievements are comparable – about €1,600,000 under the nickname Adonis112.

All results are as of 2016. There is no more recent information because the player has closed himself off from SharkScope search.

Olivier Busquet was born in New York. Unlike many high-stakes heroes, the future poker star grew up in prosperity. He attended a private school, his mother ran several companies, and his father worked in a bank. In an interview, Olivier said that even after a series of victories in major tournaments in 2009, his annual income was inferior to all members of his family.

He got acquainted with poker in 2006. At the initial stage, Busquet did not take the game seriously, so he ended up with a zero balance several times. The loss of $100,000, which he won back a month earlier, was especially epic.

After his cash game failures, Olivier Busquet switched to tournament poker, but his career was hampered by his English bulldog puppy. Combining a dog and MTTs is no easy task. In those days, tournaments did not have a synchronized break at the end of the hour. It is difficult to concentrate on hands when you are walking a dog during the game.

Olivier ended up hitting a higher full house on the river

A dispute in the chat helped him choose his specialization. On a blog, one of his opponents called Olivier a fish with a minus graph in Sit&Go. Busquet switched to SharkScope, convinced himself of the truth of his opponent's words and decided to bring the graph to 0. The player completed the task in 2 weeks. In the process, Olivier realized that the format suited him perfectly. Over the next two years, Busquet played 70-80 hours a week. Over time, he reached an excellent level.

Sit&Go for Olivier was a stepping stone to live tournament poker. Gradually, the player began to show decent results in MTT. The first significant success was the first place at the WPT Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City.
