If you’re a fresh player on PokerStars or thinking about joining, you are in the right place.

This poker room is one of the largest, so the rewards are bigger than the ones on smaller sites.

Let's think about rewards in two different categories:

  • Welcome rewards that a player can only get as they sign up or make their first deposit.
  • Existing player rewards that any player can get, even if they’ve played for a while.

Once you get through this super-short guide, you’ll know about the PokerStars bonuses and how to get each one.

PokerStars is one of the real-money rooms that offers two bonuses as a welcome gift, instead of just one.

Unfortunately, you have to choose one of these rewards and you can’t collect both.

Bonus Option #1: The Matched Deposit

By using a bonus code with your first deposit (here it is: STARS600), you’ll get a 100% match for whatever amount you deposit between $10 and $600. PokerStars also mentions that you can use this offer up to 3 times to reach the maximum reward ($600 matched).

Bonus Option #2: $30 Free Play

This bonus might be better for players who aren’t sure how much time they can devote to poker. Here’s how it works: Deposit $20 and receive $30 in tickets and cold hard cash over the first 6 days after the deposit. You’ll get $5 in Spin & Go tickets on 4 of the days, and $5 in cash on the other two days.

PokerStars is definitely one of the largest rooms in the world. It’s ranked in the top 5 in terms of average traffic, just behind GGPoker and followed by sites like 888poker, and BetOnline.

On partypoker, freerolls are running every hour with prizes from $50 to $200. These are the Round the Clock freerolls and it's not just a way to win real money, but also increase your experience.

Freerolls usually get volatile in the first few levels because many of the players don’t care about busting from the event. Hang on, play solid poker, and continue to the later levels.

Partypoker also has two welcome bonuses to choose from, just like PokerStars.

Partypoker is a great option for players who want a quality site they can trust. The site has gone to lengths to protect players by banning HUD software and allowing players to maintain anonymity at the tables. This shouldn’t put off grinders however, as Partypoker’s tournament value and unmatched rakeback offers of up to 60% are not to be missed by any serious online player.

When you open the PokerStars software, you’ll see a My Rewards icon on the right edge of your screen.

When you click that button, you’ll see a few different categories that your rewards are sorted into, like StarsCoin, Chests, tournament tickets, tournament money, instant and ongoing bonuses, plus prizes, free spins, and sports bonus cash.

Any bonus that you have opted in for or redeemed is going to show up here.

The Reward section of your PokerStars app

Most poker sites have a loyalty program for long-term and VIP players. These rewards can give you cashback to counteract the rake you pay, so they are definitely important.

PokerStars Chests are how players can keep earning rewards after they’ve already finished using their welcome bonuses. The concept is very simple; the more rake you contribute, the more your progress bar fills up. Once you fill a bar completely, you’ve just unlocked a new chest to open.

You get 100 points for every $1 in rake you pay during real money games.

Gold$2512500$1257
Diamond$10040000$40010
Black$330100000$1,000-

The progress bar will reset every 28 days, so make sure you don’t let your points expire. You’ll go down to a lower chest level after 28 days have passed.

What can you win in PokerStars Chests?

At each different level of PokerStars Chest, you’ll get the prizes for that tier, plus the chance to win StarsCoin. This is a currency that players can use to buy into tournaments, merchandise, or just convert into cash.

Unlock chests with cash or StarsCoins inside

After you unlock a certain number of the same level chests, you move on to a higher chest level, with bigger rewards.

Power Path Chests will give you tickets to Power Path events. You’ll start by playing in Step 1 with a Spin & Go, but eventually, you can ladder up to huge events with $109 buy-ins or special packages from PokerStars.

When you build up enough StarsCoin, you can open up the PokerStars Reward Store.

Exchange your coins for lots of different rewards, like free spins, casino bonuses, desktop wallpapers, and most importantly – tournament tickets and cash rebates.

The lowest cash rebate is $10 for 1,000 points, and the largest is $10,000 for any VIP with a million points, with lots of tiers in between.

You can (and should) exchange your StarsCoin for online tickets too, which start at a low 25 StarsCoin for a $0.25 Spin & Go ticket.
