WPT Global went live online in 2022, though the brand itself has been a fixture in live poker since 2002. WPT Global runs under a license from the Tobique Gaming Commission, while its game-integrity technology is supplied by A5 Labs. Its ambassador roster includes well-known players such as Phil Ivey, Patrick "Egption" Tardif, Yen Han "Pete" Chen, and Fintan Hand.
Traffic fluctuates throughout the day. By our measurements on PokerScout, WPT Global sits almost always among the top 3-5 rooms by traffic. WPT Global offers USD- and CNY-denominated cash games, including No-Limit Texas Hold'em, PLO, and Short Deck.
The Table Starter Boost offers 40% rakeback to players who start an eligible empty NLHE or Short Deck cash table in the High tab. Minimum qualifying stakes are 25/50/$100 for USD NLHE, ¥100/¥200/¥400 for CNY NLHE, and ¥200 for Short Deck. The reward applies throughout the qualifying session, with breaks of up to five minutes allowed.
New players at WPT Global get a welcome package worth up to $3,348 in rewards. The centerpiece is 100% cashback of up to $3,000 — you get back what you deposit in cash. Half is unlocked through poker at a rate of $1 for every $10 paid in rake or tournament fees, while the other half requires casino play. Any deposit of $10 or more qualifies for an instant $15.50 gift package ($5 poker deposit match bonus, $5 casino deposit bonus, $2.50 MTT ticket, and $3 in Casino Coin), and the cashback must be cleared within 60 days.
WPT Global also keeps its regulars busy with plenty of promotions. WPT Global also runs tournament leaderboard promotions with campaign-specific scoring, eligibility rules, and prizes. Some promotions are regional: for example, the $10,000 Weekly Asia MTT Leaderboard, starting October 19, 2026, awards WPT Prime Taiwan satellite tickets to qualifying players in Asia. You can find the current offers across all poker rooms on the Promotions page.

Availability depends on your jurisdiction. The Terms and Conditions publish a non-exhaustive Excluded Territories list, and absence from that list does not by itself establish eligibility.

An Overview of WPT Global Tournaments
The WPT Global tournament lobby includes NLHE, PLO, and Short Deck, with formats such as deepstacks, turbos, 6-max events, standard bounty tournaments, PKOs, and satellites.
WPT Global's regular schedule includes daily and weekly MTTs, alongside events such as the $11 Mini Slam, $110 Sunday Slam Mystery Bounty, and $530 Grand Slam PKO. Bigger series also appear on the calendar, including the WPT Global Summer Festival, which features major Championship events alongside WPT500 and WPT Prime tournaments. The WPT Global tournament schedule also keeps the lobby stocked, so there's a fresh WPT Global online tournament at almost every buy-in.
The standout feature of WPT Global is the chance to win seats to live events. WPT Global runs online satellites to selected WPT live events and partner festivals, giving players a chance to qualify for major live tournaments at a fraction of the direct buy-in. Prizes may include a tournament seat or a package with additional benefits, depending on the event. The room has also discontinued its Passport Dollars satellites, although existing Passport Dollars can still be used for live-event entries and eligible expenses until December 31, 2026.
Depending on the promotion, prizes may include a tournament seat or a package covering the buy-in and specified travel or accommodation costs. Qualifying for WPT Global Live this way keeps the buy-in low, and reaching a marquee WPT Global event on the felt is the sort of goal that keeps satellite grinders coming back.
Freerolls
WPT Global offers six daily freerolls with a combined $3,500 in prizes. They start at 05:02, 07:02, 09:02, 11:02, 13:02, and 15:02 UTC. Five have $500 prize pools, while the 13:02 UTC event offers $1,000. Eligible players receive six entry tickets simply by logging in. Other special freerolls and freeroll satellites may have additional entry requirements.
Freerolls run in most poker rooms and come in two types — public and private. Private ones are open only to players who hold a ticket or a password.
Free tournaments are a good way to practice and earn your first money in poker. You'll find schedules, conditions, and passwords in the Freerolls section.
How to Play in Tournaments
Knowing how to play each stage well is what separates steady grinders from the rest of the field. The best strategy for MTTs depends on a lot of factors — the format, the payout structure, how quickly the blind levels rise, and whether there are bounties for eliminating opponents. Your approach also shifts constantly during play depending on the stage, stack sizes, and where the strong and weak players sit at the table.
General tips for tournament players:
- Stick to bankroll management. Pros suggest keeping at least 100 buy-ins in reserve. The exact figure depends on your limits and the average field size in the MTTs you play.
- Think in the long run. Tournament poker carries high variance. Even with flawless play, you can run bad for months.
- Study regularly and review your results. Go over your hands with like-minded players or a coach.
GipsyTeam Shop offers a range of poker programs and training products, including tools such as Hand2Note 4 and PokerTracker 4, along with video courses from established players and training providers. Individual coaching can also be useful for players who want personalized feedback. Keep in mind that such programs may only be used in rooms where they are permitted: WPT Global prohibits HUDs, trackers, strategy charts, and other assistance software during play.
