Let's figure out what to do when WPT Global is not working. We'll cover the room's geo-restriction policy that keeps the site and game client from opening for players in prohibited countries, and we'll walk through the common issues with the desktop and mobile apps.
WPT Global Poker: Platform Basics
WPT Global launched in April 2022 and is the online home of the World Poker Tour. It has ranked among the world's largest online poker rooms by cash-game traffic.
According to WPT Global's current Terms & Conditions, the poker room is operated by Everstronglink Limitada under Tobique Gaming Commission licence No. 0000005. Localized versions of the site may list a different operator and licence, so a single licence doesn't automatically make play legal in every jurisdiction.
Website Not Loading: Access and Login Problems
WPT Global may amend its excluded-territories list at its discretion. The Terms and Conditions list a broad set of restricted countries. The current global English-language Terms do not exclude Canada as a whole, but explicitly list Alberta, Ontario, and New Brunswick among the excluded territories. The list also includes the US, China, Japan, Latvia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and numerous other jurisdictions.
If access fails for everyone rather than just your region, check WPT Global's official social channels and technical FAQ for maintenance announcements before you troubleshoot anything else. If no announcement is available, contact customer support from the email address registered to your account.
WPT Global may display login, connection, or location-related errors. If you're in an eligible territory, check whether a VPN or proxy is interfering with your connection. Using these tools to conceal your location or bypass geographic restrictions violates WPT Global's rules.
What to Do If the WPT Global App or Client Won't Launch
Some players may experience problems launching the desktop or mobile app after a software update. If the app won't open, close it completely and restart your device. If the problem persists, uninstall the application and download the latest installer from the official WPT Global website.
Reinstallation will not resolve regional restrictions, account suspensions, or server-side outages.
On mobile, WPT Global is available for both Android and iOS devices. The current App Store listing requires iOS 13.0 or later. The download size and Android requirements may change by version and region, so players should check the current official store listing or WPT Global download page before installing the app.
How WPT Global Treats Regulars and What the Software Offers
The room's defining feature is its recreational focus. WPT Global's approach is close to what you'll find at CoinPoker.
WPT Global limits the number of highly skilled players at most cash tables, but professional players can still join the seats available to them. Multi-tabling is capped and depends on your platform: on the desktop client, players can currently open up to four cash tables or seven tournament tables, with no more than seven tables running at once. The mobile app supports up to three simultaneous games. Mac-specific limits should be checked in the latest client version. The current multi-tabling limits are platform-specific and differ between Windows and macOS.
WPT Global prohibits third-party HUDs, trackers, data mining, and automatic note-taking during play; the client itself displays only basic stats such as VPIP and PFR. There's no built-in HUD either, unlike GGPoker.
The lobby groups cash games by stakes, while the available filtering options differ between cash games and tournaments; traditional waiting lists are not offered. Player names may be visible in the table view, but WPT Global prohibits predatory practices such as VIP hunting, seat hopping, and seat scripting.
Bonuses and Promotions
New players registering with the relevant GipsyTeam code can unlock a welcome package worth up to $3,348. Under the standard welcome offer, 50% of the deposit cashback is released through poker and 50% through casino play. In regions where WPT Global Casino is unavailable, the full deposit cashback of up to $3,000 can instead be cleared through poker, and Casino Coin rewards are replaced with tournament tickets. A qualifying deposit from $10 unlocks an instant gift package.
WPT Global also offers additional rewards for cash-game players. Its Amazing 30% PLO Rakeback promotion returns 30% of attributed rake paid at PLO4 and PLO5 cash tables, with payments made every Monday.
WPT Global also regularly runs online satellites to selected WPT live stops.
What to Play
WPT Global leans toward an Asian audience. Until 2023, stakes and buy-ins were shown in yuan, and you switched to dollars with a dedicated button in the lobby. WPT Global offers games denominated in both USD and CNY, with the available mix varying across game pools and formats.
The most popular game at WPT Global is No-Limit Texas Hold'em. Omaha and Short Deck are available too. The main formats are cash, tournaments, and spins, with plenty of unusual options.
USD Hold'em starts at $0.01/$0.02 on Big Antes tables and $0.02/$0.05 on standard tables, with published high-stakes games up to $2,000/$4,000. Tables come as 6-max and 8-max depending on the game. A few of the more interesting cash formats:
- Bomb Pots. Players post a mandatory extra contribution to the pot, and the hand is dealt straight from the flop, roughly five times an hour.
- Big Ante. Enlarged antes comparable to the big blind; each player posts an extra ante before the hand. This format used to be called Splash.
- Jackpots. Bonus payouts for winning with a royal flush, straight flush, or quads.
- Flash. WPT Global's fast-fold poker format, previously known as Pace.
Tournaments
In autumn 2023 the room added familiar spins — fast three-handed Global Spins with randomized prizes. Global Spins are available with buy-ins from $1 to $100.
WPT Global runs seasonal MTT series with guarantees in the millions. There are no single marquee events on the scale of the Sunday Million on PokerStars or MILLION$ on GGPoker in the regular schedule.
The room suits mid-stakes players well. All the popular MTT formats are here, including progressive knockouts, and there are free tournaments too. You'll find more freerolls in the schedule on GipsyTeam.
Where to Play Online Poker in 2026
GipsyTeam works with a number of rooms that offer exclusive conditions you won't get by signing up directly. Three solid options right now are CoinPoker, RedStar Poker, and GGPoker.
RedStar Poker runs on the iPoker network and welcomes new players with a 200% first-deposit bonus up to $2,000, while CoinPoker and GGPoker bring their own reward programs and player pools. CoinPoker, RedStar Poker, and GGPoker each support multiple payment methods, although the available options depend on the player's country and account; each room provides official support channels. CoinPoker withdrawals are generally processed within 10 minutes to 72 hours. GGPoker generally processes requests within 24 hours, although processing can take up to 72 hours. RedStar Poker processes requests within 8 hours on business days or 24 hours on weekends, while card transfers take 3–5 business days after approval.
